Hate to correct the great EpicCowlick . But to enable the gears to be on the dash you press the "+" and to hide them you would press the "+" again. If your dont have the gear showing and you press the "-" it will show the gears as well. But once they are showing and you press "-" you are now in the Progressive Range Selection mode and will start "locking out" the top gears per each "-" press.

While I do enjoy the capability of all this technology, I am not a big fan of the stalk design. I rented a 2017 for three weeks back in November, and I was unintentionally hitting different buttons (especially Tow/haul) all the time.

I've had that happen twice now. What a PIA that one was. I too forget what the cure to it was. It happened on my 2014. I believe that you have to push and hold one of the buttons on the steering wheel.
