That very well may be true, but the cost differential to me is insurance that I wouldn't be spending all the time on a rework. I'll gladly pay the insurance.
Just the YouTube vid that the guy cuts the dorman open to show the difference in cross-section, build quality, passage size. Now if it is a truck you don't plan to use as a truck, naw, I wouldn't even use a dorman for that...
You guys are absolutely right, the Ford cooler is the better cooler, period.
I guess a better way to phrase my meaning is, if you have a budget + time situation that forces your hand, I suggest that going cheaper on the cooler and not the gaskets is the lesser evil.
But I'm not suggesting it's the same difference, it isn't.
I just can't believe they have sold that many, to who ? A DYI guy that's learning, or a used car lot getting out cheap ? I hope its not a shop buying them. Sorry its just hard for me to get using junk. Im a fleet guy, I know everything I work on I will see again till its replaced.
What will happen is he'll go with the cheaper one and it'll bust in a couple of months. It'll be your fault because of the crappy job you did. It works like that you know.

I know that feeling all to well, he was on a budget when he bought the truck, it was a screaming deal I will admit....but maybe he will learn his lesson. Sad part is I tried to get him To come on here and read read and read some more but he won't.
So in a few weeks I'll be installing a new cooler for him. Got a massive renovation going on at my house right now so my time is limited. Ill install whatever he wants. As long as he supplies the beer LOL.
