I just bought a 2009 F150 4x4 with tow package. The sticker on the door says the tires are 235x75r17, the tires on the truck are 275x75r18's. Did someone replace them after buying the truck or is it a factory option? And if it is factory wouldn't they put a different sticker on the door?
275/75/18 is not a factory size, as the 18" tire would have been a 275/65/18. Sounds to me like the previous owner changed up a few things.
Any pics of the truck?
OK, I missed that by a mile. I was going from memory on the size. They are 255x70x18. Here is a pic, I can't make out the brand of rims, I wish they would just print **** instead of trying to make it fancy!! The rims are in bad shape as seen in the pics. I hate aluminum rims!! Are there any steel wheels for these?
Those are definitely aftermarket. It looks like MB Offroad to me.
There are lots of factory take offs for sale in various places, like your local craigslist. I'm sure you could pick up a set with tires for $600-800.
Thanks MC, I searched MB wheels and you are correct, that is what they are. I will need tires soon so I will probably look for the 17" wheels. So far the only steel wheels I have found are uglyyyyyyyyyy.
Your best bet is probably a set of 18" take offs from an xlt with the chrome appearance package.
They are a steel wheel with a chrome hubcap. Sounds cheesy but they actually look really nice and hold up very well. If you didn't know they were just caps, you'd swear they were chrome wheels.
