I just bought a 2015 F350 with MFT/Sync 2 navigation and entertainment. I see the version is from mid 2014, and there have been no updates, nor are any available.

Is this already an abandoned version now that Sync 3 is out? Will they ever update it? I haven't found any real issues yet, just a few small things, but hoping an update would fix them.

I searched the internet and this site and couldn't find anything obvious.

Hmm. That's interesting, thanks. When I check online at the Ford Sync page, it says my vehicle is up to date. And when I click "Software Update History" it shows Sync2v3.7 as the version.

 

I read on that Wiki page that when a new version comes out they may or may not use it in specific vehicles. I bet you could manually upgrade to a later version (also mentioned in that Wiki page).

Truck still under warranty? It can't hurt to ask the dealer.

This is interesting though, from the article:

"As a result of falling reliability rankings and widespread customer complaints, Ford announced they would extend the warranty on the MyFord Touch system to five years with unlimited miles, up from three years and 36,000 miles."
