I love trucks. I drive a 1970 F-100, my mom drives an 03 f150 v8 and my dad drives a 97 f150 v6. I grew up in trucks. Now everyone is going to their hondas and acuras. Why would you want to switch out V8 POWER for a four banger? I hate the ASIAN INVASIAN...
If you have the answer let me know, cus im tired of ricers in my high school parking lot when theres five of them for every truck.
The fact that they can last a long time and can get very good gas mileage. That and people have been watching to many hi rev tuner episodes and to many fast and furious movies.
ricers suck
I have an 87' Camry just because it gets 35 MPG, I don't like driving it and only drive it when I don't want to pay for gas, but hey it's free. I don't consiter it a ricer though
I think the same thing everytime I pull into my school parking lot.
I love my old trucks. Always have. My wife on the other hand hates my old trucks and drives a TOYOTA. She says my 70 is one of the ugliest trucks ever made. Thats ok, she refuses to drive it so I never have to worry about keeping gas for multi-user usage.

I agree with Mike W - Those little cars are difficult to get into plus when it comes time to get out its like getting up from ground level. Oh yeah it IS at ground level....
That is one of the things I hate about ricers, that and the fact that most girls seem to like rice just because they are all curved and gay looking. Another thing I hate about rice is how it seems like most of them have those horrible excuses for mufflers that make the darn thing sound like a pissed off bee.
The ricers at my work make fun of my truck for always breaking stuff, and I just tell them "If your civic was through what my truck has been, you wouldn't have a car".
CaptainFord: I always like to point out the reason the girls like there cars so much is that they are driving "girl cars" and that real men drive trucks lol.
Not always so blunt but depending who I am talking to its rather funny...they dont have an answer. They can't justify a car being useful (because if they bring up gas I just mention high end sports cars and ask them if they'd drive them...of course they say yes and then realize the gas arguement is out the window)
Hey guys! I don't know how old you all are, but there seems to be a lot of sense here! (sorry).
If I wanted to ROLL out of my car, it would be a Mustang!
Those little honey bees flying around are just waiting for a "REAL FORD" to come along!
When I met my wife, she had one of those "Sunbird" things! It lasted for a month and then I got her a 78' Bronco. She drive's a mini van now, but at least I got her out of the small world!
Talk with you guys later....
My Bronco is great, I'd never want to sell it, but I'd take a Civic anyday.
Why? Well, because being a poor college student, a 351 H.O. is pretty hard on gas, a Civic would serve me well. I really want a Taraus SHO though
Cars generally get better mileage than cars...wether it's a foreign or domestic car. I prefer trucks, feel safer driving one than a car...but it's hard to beat 30 + MPG when gas is $2.15 a gallon here.
I always justify the trucks insurance. You old guys got it great. But for me (20) truck insurance is 1/3 of car insurance for me (and the fact that my truck is a 79) but I justify the extra gas as tangible goods...rather have something then nothing for my money ;/ (insurance...cant make a claim even if something did happen it would go up so high I couldn't afford it anyway...bah)
Why do I like trucks? Because I HATE cars! Any thing I drive, I have to be able to see the end of the hood (NOT the case with new dodge trucks-GRR!) and almost all cars are FWD, and I HATE FWD, and on my truck, I can fix almost anything with a 7/16, 1/2, 9/16 wrench and a screwdriver. If I have something i have to take with me, I can just throw it in the back. The only shortcoming of my truck is the passenger capacity. # fit easy, but I have to get passenger #2 to shift if we squeeze 4. Thats why everyone should get a bronco or a 67-72 crewcab.
I laugh when i hear the rice grinder drivers at school talk about "performance" mods to increase power. You could tweak that 4 banger totally out, but never even get the power of my stock 302!
