I'd like to think that I have a lot of patience. But I've been wanting a diesel for all of my life. These next 10 weeks are going to be painstaking.
I'm going to enjoy my new truck so much, though. The wait makes it that much sweeter. I think one or two people got their trucks in 6 or 7 weeks. Maybe I'll be one of them. I tried to bribe my dealership with donuts, but they said they couldn't change the build priority.
I'm not sold on the priority thing I started with a 19 then 10 then 01 and I'm now going on 4 months now with my 4th eta change to the 27 th of this month will see I hope so! More like the luck of the draw
So, I'm getting a little confused here. If you are eligible to use X-Plan pricing, should you state that when you order?
or announce it when the truck arrives?
I was told that all rebates in effect at the time the truck arrives are eligible, not at the time of order. I've always thought that you negotiate the price of the truck you can touch, not the one you see on the computer.

So, which is the best strategy??
You get the deal at the time of order or when it arrives which ever is better

Makes sense, but I guess I have no idea of what deal will be present in 2-3 months. Any advice on how to estimate that?
I have an order on paper, but not submitted, while we investigate what Job #2 changes will occur that may potentially affect the truck. For reference, I am ordering an F350 Lariat Ultimate CCSB FX4 with camper package, 18" wheels, deploy steps, and all options like tow tech, BLIS, TACC, Supp heat, rear seat heat, rear airbag option.
I know about the $1000 rebate and I'm eligible for a couple of other rebates, but I don't know if they are limited time offers.

That's the fun of ordering. I know mine will be a Job 1. I had no idea about this Job 1 or Job 2 business. I may have decided to wait until Job 2 trucks were being made.
As far as incentives and rebates, to my knowledge, there is no way to know what Ford has up its sleeve. What other rebates are you eligible for? I am only aware of the $1000 rebate, and I'm eligible for the $500 student discount.
Side note- NICE truck!!! I didn't want a sunroof, otherwise I would have gotten the Lariat Ultimate package. I do wish I could get the LED lights though. Oh well. I'll have to see what aftermarket headlights come out.
The 1k rebate is going to be around until the first of April according to Ford. I was hoping for more.
Where can you find Ford saying that? I've always wanted to know if there was some source for these programs, other than what Ford just shows on their website.

Thanks for the comments and the compliment on the order. In the end, Job 1 vs Job 2 may be meaningless to me, but FOMO (not FoMoCo) has me by the neck.
I'm eligible for both LEO and military rebates, but I'm not sure at this time if I can claim them both at the same time. Yeah. I heard such good things about the LED's that I had to order them. They look great too. I'm sure an aftermarket solution that looks great will come in a few months.
Just an FYI, if you like guns, you are eligible for the Glock Blue Label program being a LEO/ military. I am neither, but if you join GSSF, you can get 1 Blue Label gun per year. Saved me nearly $240 on my 4th Gen Glock 27.
I hope you and I both get quick turnarounds! Mine will be coming to North Florida. Personally, I'd drive it home from the factory to save that 2 weeks. Haha.

On Ford.com
Look at incentives, and the current one runs thru the first of April
I just ordered an f350 on Monday using x plan. Before I left the salesman gave me an order printout and a purchase agreement. He told me my order number and wrote it down on my purchase agreement. I know it's only been 3 days but this order number doesn't show up in COTUS. I noticed on my order printout there is a "ord PEP" number which is also 4 digits but different than the number the salesman gave me. That number also doesn't show up in COTUS. So are either of these numbers the "DORA"? Is it just too early to show up in COTUS?

Yes. I ordered 23Dec and mine still doesn't show up there. I have a build week and VIN from the dealer, but doesn't show up in COTUS.

Fun stuff about COTUS. I was told by a chat rep that COTUS is still in beta, and not every vehicle gets entered into it. I also ordered my F350 on Monday!!! Small world!!
