Yes, I do not pull the cable while driving. Besides, there aren't many instances where I want to lock it out anyway. And I think a 4 speed car trans would be cool but I don't even think it is possible, and I like the crap out of this OD anyway. It's pretty slick

2X. I thought so as well. So I checked and found dashpot part number C8AZ9B549A is listed for both 390 C6 and 390 M/T.

Cool, Thanks Jefffafa. So, do you think then that putting one on there would simmer my issue down a bit? Holley makes a universal one for their carbs. I was thinking that the truck originally had an idle stop solenoid on it for cooling purposes but I don't think I'll mess with that, but I didn't know if the ISS was also a dashpot. I had a 64 Comet one time with a 200 straight 6, 1 bbl. It actually had an accelerator pump for the throttle return on it to smooth out deceleration! I find it amazing some of the things that they used to do to accomplish some of the things we take for granted in a Computer controlled vehicle.

I dunno if it would solve your problem or not. I've never messed with a vehicle with that tranny. Others out there would be better qualified to answer that.
