Are they calling (what we call radius arms) torsion bars? I guess it is only on IFS front ends? Sorry I googled it and read some and was still like...."huh?".

a torsion bar is a spring steel bar used instead of leaf or coil springs.
very old technology, it was used by chrysler back in the 50's 60's and 70's.

probably.
they are usually around 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick, and 4 foot long. run along the frame front to back, with a nut end on both sides that fit into a socket.
to lift the vehicle you crank down on the bar and it will lift it up instead of adding a lift kit like we do with our trucks. but that also gives you a very stiff ride, kinda like riding on concrete wheels.

Also used on 2000's +- Ford Rangers.

(As if leaf and coil springs are soooo much more modern )

The older Explorers and Sport Tracs used torsion bars up front too. In 2002 the 4 door explorers switched to struts.
