Hellwig rear sway bar

Just wondering if anyone has put a rear sway bar on their super duty and if you think it was worthwhile. Before camping season I plan to add a leaf to my rear suspension to stop the sag and am also thinking about the rear sway bar. I have a 2016 F250 with a 6.2. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

I have the same truck and I ordered mine with the Camper Package so it came with the sway bar and bigger spring pack. I know the Hellwig sway bar is heavier duty than what Ford uses.
I am putting a truck camper on my truck next month and everyone has told me they really help with the sway. I also put airbags on my truck and the upper Stableloads. Those are also something you might think about.

Thanks for the info, we do have the same truck according to your photo. Silver/magnetic crew cab.

I towed a 9000 lb Travel Trailer. I used a Blue Ox Weight Distribution Hitch, Helwig Air Bags and the Helwig Sway Bar. With this set-up our towing was totally effortless. So yes, the Rear Sway Bar is worth every cent.

Thanks, that is great feedback. I want to try the leaf instead of airbags. Mine has the snowplow package and sits dead level, I am going for a little rake. I can always add airbags later.

I have added the Hellwig Big Rig rear sway bar. It is a very nice and beefy unit. The OEM one is teeny and mounts down low on the axle. The Hellwig mounts above the axle over the front side.

I hear you on the bags. I had them on my 06 and dumped them in favor or an add-a-leaf in the lower spring pack and adding 2 OEM Upper auxillary springs with the OEM frame stops. This was the best addition as it allowed me to then use Torklift Stableloads to finetune the ride height with our Lance camper. The airbags lasted about 1 year, and then were so cracked from the side to side wallowing off-road that I was afraid to put the camper on again.

I will likely install an add-a-leaf on my 16 as well for better load carrying capacity - especially since I am leveled front to rear. Looking forward to hearing how yours turns out.

Good feedback, I have read good reviews on the Torklift Stableloads. For some reason they seem like a strange way to solve the problem. I have watched the YouTube videos and it just doesn't sit well with me.

Thanks

I assume you have the 2 inch blocks.
Many 2016 250's come with 4 inch blocks.
If you have the 2's I'd change them out.

The Torklift Stableloads work great and are a very simple concept. They engage the lower and/or (I only have the uppers on my truck) upper overload springs sooner. Very simple, very effective and very inexpensive.
One thing I will say that I don't particularly like is that with the upper Stableloads you will sometimes get a slap when you hit a bump from the Stableloads slapping the upper overload springs. I think that is just something you have to live with.

Before ordering a Hellwig anti sway bar for the rear axle of a Super Duty or Excursion, you might want to read the ongoing saga with Hellwig chronicled in this concurrent thread:

My Hellwig Big Wig Sway Bar came with the same style endlinks but for the pickup application they actually mount the other direction (rod end up). I had no issues with assembly. Will check the end links to ensure they are still tight.

This is why I love this forum, I had no idea of these potential issues.
