recognising a 351w

Hey, How can I tell if my motor is a 351 or 302? Its suppose to be a 351, but I just saw something and now its got me thinking it might be a 302.

Thanks

a 302 has a 9 inch wide intake and a windsor has an 11 inch intake....

One of the easiest ways to tell the difference is to look at the distance from where the distributor seats on the block to where the lower intake mates with the block. On a 351W this is about 1 inch. On a 302 these parts are nearly flush. This is because the 351W has a 1 inch higher deck height.
