Can't comment here. I myself used the Powerstop full kit with pads, rotors, and calipers from Summit racing. MANY people on here went that route and were very happy with the results.

I replaced my front rotors, pads, calipers, and lines last week with ones from brakemotive off of eBay. I found other positive reviews for them on here, so that's what I went with. So far so good.

With brake rotors, you get what you pay for. If you buy bargain basement rotors, expect them to crack, glaze, and warp before higher quality brands will.

Hope that helps.

To piggyback on this:

A few members on here have dropped the big dollars on cryo treated rotors and LOVED them. Not on my radar since I don't tow and I've done other brake mods that will net better braking without them but a good thought!

The better question is:

How do you use your truck?
How many miles do you drive a year?
Are you long distance or in town?
Do you want to invest in your truck or just keep it running (no judgment, just need to know)?
Do you have other brake plans for the truck (Braided lines, better pads)?
What kind of budget do you have?

I liked the original version. I'll never look at a landmine the same way again!

Yeah. The Bosch's were anything but quiet, especially when wet and the Duralasts had cracking in a month. Both were taken off between 1500-2000 miles and went with OEM rotors and pads until I have funds set aside for the aforementioned PowerStop kit and some Hawk pads. Which are a very common and well liked upgrade for these rigs, so I wouldn't discount what's already been shared.

Bargain prices and cheap parts, especially with brakes, are a terrible idea - especially on 9000lbs of vehicle. Apoc's prompts and questions were well founded, it'll help us shoot you some solid options and choices compared to your tossing out two generic brand part options and providing zero input on how you utilize your rig. Kinda like someone wanting brake recommendations, settling on cheaper stuff that was more readily available, and it ends up pissed off because they didn't specify they intended to use the vehicle as a track car or land speed records.... just as an example.

The Excursion will crack cheap rotors and turn pads directly into dust just by itself and its own heft, so don't bat peoples' quieres away as philosophy.

Summit racing require you to pay core charge $120 for some items if you buy a kit, return of old parts shipping cost at buyers expense.

Shipping back went in a flat rate box and was $16 IIRC. You're complaining about an extra $16 on top of a few hundred dollar purchase? Come on man, even I'M not that cheap!!!

You get rebuilt calipers that are basically brand new (and painted pretty for extra HP) and makes your braking system one more step towards how it braked when it left the dealership. It's a small price to pay to know your truck will stop when you hit the pedal.

wait up buddy! I'm not cheap either I thought due to the weight, shipping would be more then $16, it's a different story then. Also, good you said that it's 'rebuilt', I did not know it either. Every day I learn something new, love forums

Yeah, flat rate is AWESOME! It fits, it ships

Yeah, they rebuild them and paint them that red. The paint chips in shipping and when you install them but not to bad. EVERYONE has that issue but they still look really good. Totally worth the money for peace of mind IMHO. I did Stainless braided lines at the same time as well. Twitch helped me (kind of, he's a lazy little midget) and it didn't take more than about 3 hours to do.

It's hard to help when you have to constantly look over your shoulder.
