Project 4x4
Hi Gang, Bob here. Been sitting on this F250 for awhile and now it's about time to get the project rolling. Fairly straight forward but do to the the years of neglect it will need a few things. I'd like to get it up and running by mid summer which doesn't seem far fetched, we'll see how it goes. The motor seems to be the biggest item and I'm not sure what route to take. It has a 68 390 out of a Merc Cyclone, 10.5:1 with what was referred to as quick seat rings although compression was never even in all cylinders, Crane "Gripper" cam, Holley 650, still running points with stock distributor and a MSD multi spark and water injection. 4 Speed with the small front axle. I need to tear the engine down, I believe it has 40,000 since rebuild, hone, replace rings and reseal. Do away with the points and that's where I need some input. How do I curve the Dist. and jet the Carb. to match the engine. Trial and error or ?
