Bottom end bearings

so I've got my 360 tore down and it's clearly been rebuilt before and I'm wondering how can I tell if the bearings are done? They don't have any bad groves and the oil pressure was always fine but the copper colour is startig to show.

Replace them. You're down this far and they aren't that expensive.

I agree with mikeo0o0o0, if you're that far, go ahead and change them. Best to do it now and be sure they're good. Then there is no question later. Peace of mind goes a long way!

Look at the backside of the bearing, that should have any undersize marked on it.
If they're replacements, they should be marked STD. 010, 020, etc.

I hope you have all the rods and caps marked so you know which ones go with each other.

Just did mine last week. My crank started at .020/.020 mains and cons and NAPA turned it down to 0.030 and 0.040. While you've got it out, have the crank checked and then get new bearings. You'll be glad you did.

If you're in that far you should have the rods check on both ends for size and resize if necessary. Last thing you need is a wrist pin knock in a couple hundred miles or a big end be distorted from overheating etc.
