2000 Excursion V10 Limited brakes??
Only when it's heavy rains she is getting a pulsating effect when braking. I just replaced brake pads all around and no issues. Brakes any other time feel fine so obviosuly when it happens I'm never driving. She remembers a code came up for ABS is there a sensor I should be checking that may have water intrusion? Or something else that is causing this to happen? I had a small leak on drivers side caliper few days ago. Thought okay I'll replace it but I sprayed it clean with brake cleaner and nothing has been leaking since. No signs of low brake fluid either so when it did leaks just as oil goes a little goes a long way meaning small leak looks bigger than it is.
Any suggestions? I'm not opposed to changing caliper but would that cause this issue? All calipers had no issues compressing to put new brake pads on so unless one of them is hung up and piston is frozen I really dont know at this point.
How fresh is the fluid... ever bleed the brakes? If they have never been bled, I would start there. Can make a huge difference.
How are the rotors? Could have a warped rotor if it had cheap rotors...
Start with those first.
Honestly I'm not sure on full fluid flush. I have not owned it since new but judging by color of fluid it looks good. I may still do a complete flush.
Brakes were bled, when I did pads. Only because I had to open valves to push caliper piston back in and didn't want to push fluid back into lines to reservoir.
Rotors looked fine but again I didnt take them in to shop to turn them.
