I'm old... but I'm new to Ford trucks and new to this forum. Have any of you longtime Ford folks come across a fifth wheel tailgate (the so-called "V" tailgates) that will lock securely and at least has an option to remount the OEM backup camera? The truck in question is a 2012 F350 Lariat DRW 6.7.

Look at Huskyliners.com, they have a pretty nice alum V type rv tailgate that you can add their small camera mount. Looks like you use your orig camera.

 

Thanks. I've been looking at that but several reviews say the lock is a joke (meaning the tailgate is easily stolen) and that the optional camera mount is plastic and falls apart/off. I like the look of the tailgate itself if it weren't for these two issues.

No - but I quit looking. I'm getting along fine with the OEM tailgate. At my age, I really appreciate the step and assist handle built into it, too.

Custom Flow makes a powder coated galvanized steel v gate and they have a optional camera.mount. I have had two of them. Expensive but worth it.
