Drive line squeak
So my Ex squeaks at low speeds. If I turn the wheel slightly it seems to make it worse. The other day I had the rear end on the ice. Accelerated and spun the tired. I could hear a squeak squeak squeak. I lifted the rear of the truck and put it in drive. No squeak. Every thing sounds fine. I put it in N and spun the drive shaft. Maybe some noise at the transfer case? Could that bearing leaving the transfer case cause it? That an easy fix? Or ?? I also note some chatter occasionally from the rear end. I did just change the fluid. But may need to do it again. The squeak is the more annoying porblem at the moment. Thoughts?

Would be good to inspect the U-joints in the drive shaft(s) and front axle. Any of them look like they're loose (pry on them) or rusty where the cap meets the body of the joint?
Might also check front unit bearings if 4x4. Front bearings packed if 2x4.
Axle slip joint nice and lubricated?
T-case have plenty of ATF?

I inspected the u joints for what it's worth. Everything is rusty. The rear end has fresh fluid and additive. The transfer case was full. When I had it on the ice, only the rear wheels were spinning. It only squeaks at low speed.

Just had same problem
I just had this squeak last week. At first I misdiagnosed it as a squeaky belt. Dropped the rear shaft, it immediately stopped. Limped on the front wheels to a drive line shop and had it rebuilt. Runs tight like champ now. No squeak.
