Fuel tank sending unit help needed
So I have been moving along nicely and buying tons of parts this winter for my panel build. The new fuel tank is being bent up and hopefully will be finished within a week or so. My question is what sending unit do I use. The panel will retain the factory gauges so it will need one that works with the originals. Do any of you have a preference or is it just as simple as buying the stock replacement and fitting it to the new tank? Oh and another question for some of you darksiders. How exactly do I mate up the old speedo with my AOD transmission?

It would help to add the year of your truck to your posts. Branded has offered some good advice for an F100 but for your F1 that won't work. The early trucks had an archaic fuel sender/gauge arrangement, you may be better off getting an aftermarket gauge with a sender that matches. Good luck.

FoMoCo replaced the original sending units on 1948/55 trucks, 1949/55 Ford cars with this puppy, but people had to use their original float rod and float, because this sender didn't come with them.
