Hood hinge color 52f1
What is the correct color for the hood hinges and spring hinges. Body color or black.
Original hood hinges that had loose rivets were ivory and believed to be original.
Thanks,
Tom

Mine are rusty reddish brown. I'm looking forward to an answer to this myself.

On '49 trucks they could be either grey or black. Mine are grey.

I believe body color would be the Dearborn standard. The trucks I've seen that had earned that distinction had body color hinges. Of course there's no way to say that every plant did them the same way. Stu

Thanks for the replies. Think I will wait a few days In order to gain more info.
At the present I like body color for the hinge and black for the spring hinge.
Thanks again,
Tom

Well you should paint it how you wish unless you are building a show truck. Body color with black springs would look nice.
