Pre and Post Excursion
A side by side of my pre Excursion, 1994 1 ton C350 Ford Centurion with a 460 gas/auto and my 2002 Ford Excursion Ltd. Ultra 7.3. I was the second owner of the Centurion when I bought it in 1997. Had 30k on the speedometer. Now has 118k on it as I still have it. Had every option....leather, power captains, radar...on and on.
Was going to sell it but because of the size it was outdoors all those years and the clear coat starting eroding on the top and sides. The exterior, although straight and no dings, doesn't show well due to the appearance of the clear coat. Had everyting fixed and with the exception of a manifold leak, all things were minor....fluids, new ignition, re-adjust drivers door etc. I'm pretty **** so it has had excellent care and maintainace over the years.
So, since I have property in eastern Washington that we go to to hunt and camp (117 plus acres), I'm going to keep it to use to travel the local gravel roads during hunting season. One nice thing about the Centurion, you set up high and see extremely out well. More so than even the Excursion.
Probably going to address the clear coat issue with a partial repaint. Had the rig just too long to give it up, for what someone would pay. Thought you might enjoy seeing the comparison of what came before the Excursion. For what it's worth I think the Centurion is slightly bigger.

Forgot to mention that up until Ford came out with the Excursion, I could not drive anywhere without people coming over and asking all kind of questions when at the gas pump, store parking lot etc. More than once had cars pacing me with passenger writing down whatever or just eyeballing.
Was kind of cool for many years, then alas the Excursion came along and my attention getting wained. Such is life....lol.
This photo gives you a good idea just how much clearance is under the Centurion. You can literally roll under it with a dolly and still not be tight the way it set unlifted. Oh and one more thing.....I could always easily find it anywhere in a crowded parking lot.
