Charging issues
Ive got a 97F250HD crew cab short bed 4x4 with the 460. Last week got in truck started it and the battery light lit up. Went to auto parts store bought new battery since the one it had was 7 years old . No help then back to parts store for alternator. Same thing no charge. Took alternator back they tested and sad it was bad. Put new one on that was tested beforehand and still no charge. Ive tested continuity from charge lead of alternator back to battery so I know fuselink is good. Ive tested yellow wire going to alternator it has the 12 volts at all times like it should. Ive tested the green and striped wire and its getting 12 volts when the key is on like it should. Ive test continuity between the alt. shell and the ground on battery so I know its grounded. Ive check continuity between the white striped wire plug and the pigtailed end of the alternator plug. Any suggestions on what next to check would greatly be appreciated.
