How are the factory style push rod lengths measured, overall or gauge?
I believe mine was supposed to have 9.59" push rods factory, but don't know the measuring method for them.
I'm trying to figure out what I need with a length checker but am trying to figure out if one of the factory lengths will be enough shorter after my rebuild instead of spending a bunch on custom length. If they are measured differently it is possible that I can add a bit to my measurement.
Assuming you have hydraulic lifters with non-adjustable rockers, you have to collapse the lifters before checking the length. I don't have the measurement range in front of me, but I believe that I set the gap to .100. Mine were different lengths, so measure each one.
