I have a 2012 F150 XL with 164k miles and I'm having problems with the volume control on the factory radio with single disc CD player. When I turn the volume control button clockwise sometimes the volume increases a little but most of the time it doesn't increase at all and is so low that I can barely hear it. Could it be worn out since the truck has so many miles on it or could it be something else? Thanks in advance....
On the software update I put in all the info it asked for and nothing happened. On the master reset I didn't understand what I was supposed to do. Does it need to have navigation? It's an XL which is the base model so I don't think it has navigation. Now what?

Did you sign into your Owner account to review the software info? When you sign in, be sure the VIN is added to the account, then click on the SYNC & VEHICLE FEATURES tab. You'll want to click on the SYNC Technology circle and then CHECK FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES on the right side of the box.
You do not need a navigation system to perform the master reset. Each system has its own specific directions to reset the system. Were you able to choose your vehicle and/or system for the directions?
I set up the account earlier today. I wrote down all the instructions for the master reset and went out to the truck but when I pushed the button with the picture of the phone on it (by the radio) nothing happened. I don't think my truck has bluetooth or sync (whatever that is). The volume on the radio won't go up loud enough for me to be able to hear it on the freeway. Could the volume button be worn out?
