I have a 2014 F250 that i just purchased. This truck has the My Ford Touch system and i'm having intermittent issues with the Radio. For no rhyme or reason sometimes i will get in my truck, start it up and the radio will not play. The volume shows to be up but nothing is coming out of the speakers. The fix for this is to push the power button on the volume **** and then turn it back on and the radio starts playing again.
I have tried updating the sync system and thats all i really know to do... Any help is appreciated.
My 2014 F350 was doing the same thing when listening to Sirius, took it to the dealer and they replaced the Sirius antennae. I know it sounds crazy, but it hasn't acted up since!
Mine does the same thing. I am not sure why it does that but I have noticed that if I am listening to Sirius the radio shows whatever was on the last time I was in the truck. For example, one day I got out of the truck listening to Octane and Avenged Sevenfold was playing. When I got back in like 2 hours later the sound wasn't working and I noticed that the info screen still showed Avenged Sevenfold. Hasn't been such an inconvenience that I have taken it in yet though.
SYNC isn't bad. They could have put a little more thought into it though. I pulled mine and put in a CarPlay unit.
The only complaint I really had with SYNC is that it never remembered that I was listening to Bluetooth. I would always have to say 'Bluetooth Audio' when I got in.
I had an issue with the the SYNC module actually shutting the entire radio off intermittently for varying lengths of time. The only way to get it to come back on was to pull the radio fuses for more than 5 minutes and then reinstall them. I was also having an issue with the radio/sat radio/cd/ whatever taking more than 2 minutes to start having sound at startup in the mornings. So, I pulled out the sync module and Bluetooth modules and the radio has been fine ever since. That was almost a year ago. So the issue seems to be with the sync module. I don't care for it, and I don't use the Bluetooth anyway.
Well I dropped mine off again this evening. Hoping that enough of this has been reported so they can actually get the radio to play upon start up each time.
For awhile mine would mix up the FM radio stations...it would be on a different channel than it was displaying.
It did it on a few long trips during the winter but seems to have stopped now??
It's a new 2015 F350 King Ranch bought in Dec 14
If someone would make a replacement radio that actually works along with everything else that is controlled through the radio, they would be rich. I would be one of the first in line. I have to do the master reset about every 2 weeks.
