Bertha came with the standard drivers side mirror, but it was gone when I got the truck. I dont want the huge 3 point mount kind. Any suggestoins or pictures??
I was kinda lookin for something smaller than that. I had some off of a car that looked great, but the mounting arm was too short, so all I could see was the top of the bed.
I always liked the 70's-80's (don't know exact years but they were used for a long time) that had two mounting points on the door and had the horizontally rectangular mirror. Should be able to find a good set cheap at a salvage yard.
DONO in '04!! Great subject. I have some pretty decent looking mirrors on my '67 F-100 (photo inset) but they do not give me the visibility I really prefer and vision is limited. I am seriously considering going with the shorter 2 point mount kind Barry mentioned earlier. Even though my mirror "surface" is quite large its position on the door does not fit well with the drivers position in the seat. I am beginning to believe Ford engineers knew what they were doing when they designed the 3 point and 2 point mounted truck mirrors for the F-100's.

I would suggest you try actually sitting in some comparable truck seats with various styles of mirrors to get a feel for what will work for you and your truck before you start drilling and mounting more mirrors.
Good luck.

Actually these mirrors are horrible for rear viewing. Whenever I change lanes, I physically turn my head and look two or three times because the view in the mirrors is so limited. Yes, I've tried different adjustments, but to no avail. If it didn't mean filling existing holes and drilling new, I'd install a more modern set of mirrors......although I do love the looks of the monster CS mirrors/mounts.
I have the two point mini wetern style ones. I love how they look. Viewing area requires a couple of those small stick on mirrors. But the worst part is that it's hard to see around them. I have to look twice as hard as before at an intersection in case a car is behind those mirrors. Not sure I'd go that route again.
What did those come off of, tripticker? I like those!
DONO in '04,
I think I picked them up at one of the box stores i.e K-Mart, Target, Walmart, not really sure as it has been several years back or it could have even been Pep Boys. I just remember looking around for several weeks before I stumbled on those. They are "okay" but you really have to "hunt" when you are using them for side vision. If they were the type that have a rounded surface and "make objects appear larger than they really are" I think they might be a lot better application.
Good luck again.
