Greetings. I have an oil leak in the oil filter adapter. Seeing some images of several adapters I see that they are all mounted upside down than mine, my adapter is upside down that of the image and the top mark is next to the opposite. What is the proper position? My 292 engine
Lower pic: The "Spin-On" oil filter adapter was introduced in 1957.
The B7A-6882-A adapter kit that replaced the 'sock' cartridge filter and the EAA-6838-A gasket are the same for OHV: 215/223/262 I-6's and 239/256/272/292/312 Y blocks.
Thanks for the answer, my plate is like the one in the photo, but the holes are down and the top mark up
Auto parts stores (NAPA for one) also sold a similar oil filter adapter, but I've never seen one in person.
You can still get the adapter from NAPA at a reasonable price. There are 1,778 NOS genuine Ford adapters available (Carpenter has most of them), but the last MSRP was a horrendous $122.22.
Thanks for the answers. Forgive my bad English. I already have a plate installed but seeing images I see that mine is installed contrary to the others and I wonder if it is okay like this
It keeps the filter from draining when the engine is shut off, which reduces the amount of time it takes for pressure to come up when it is started. That is a good feature.
[Quote = charliemccraney; 16858619] Se mantiene el filtro de drenaje cuando el motor está apagado, lo que reduce la cantidad de tiempo que le toma a la presión para llegar al encenderlo. Esa es una buena característica. [/ Quote]
gracias Ok
