I do understand the reasons behind a 10 speed trans...........keeps the engine in a narrow powerband which is easier to regulate emissions......and provide the needed pulling power from a smaller displacement engine......however.......when the damn thing goes south on you, you aren't going to be able to afford to fix it therefore you will just buy another new one because you can finance it......its all by design by the manufacturers.........lots of gears are cool......I once knew a guy with a class 8 truck he used in the oilfield......had a 13 speed with a 4 speed Brownie behind it.........that guy had a gear for anything you could throw at it LOL
