The threads on one of the spark plug holes are in bad shape/missing near bottom near combustion chamber. I was able to torque a plug to 25lbs and it held fine. Would you run it, have an insert put in, or find a better one.

Its an EAB head that mag'd fine and all other threads and features look fine.

I'd question that you were getting an honest 25 ft-lbs with those threads. I'd have the machine shop Timesert it. Easier now than later.

 

Definitely. You'd hate to have to pull that head sometime in the future when you could take care of it now.

 

Thanks guys for the advice, I will use it and have it re-threaded with an insert. Frustrated that they sent me a head with bad threads but I guess you can't catch everything and its not the end of the world with an insert.
