I was trying to see how hard would it be to change my 07 Ford ranger from a automatic to a manual trans, Can this even be done? If not,
The problem I am having with the automatic trans is when I put it into drive ( when it isnt good and warmed up ) it takes and 25 to 30 sec for it to kick into drive. The fluid is at the full mark and was just changed a short time back filter as well.

54,000 miles and has been baby its whole life...
If it were mine, I would consult an auto transmission repair shop before considering a change making it a manual. That involves changing the brake and clutch pedal assembly, adding a clutch reservoir, master cylinder, slave cylinder and lines, flex plate to fly wheel and throw out bearing, transmission, shifting mechanism, carpet and tunnel cover, engine control unit, neutral safety switch and wiring, as well as eliminating the auto shift lever and gear indicator, etc. It's almost easier and cheaper to trade vehicles if you really want a manual. If you are just looking for a fix, I think it would be easier and cheaper to repair the auto transmission.
