Buy one of those and haul it on that, I bet you would break even on fuel (maybe not) and you would have a neat little trailer that folds up and can be stored against the wall.
I know guys who put their plow on and leave it there. So I hardly think it will do anything to your truck. Just keep your eye on your temps the first 30 minutes or so. If it gets warm your plow is too high.
Curious why your contemplating even going that far? Even if it were to plow your own property it would have to be cheaper to hire someone.

I agree, save money on the cost but spend a few days and gas money to get it home. Buying a plow local - even for $1k more, would be better (IMO) than spending a few days driving and hauling it back, hotel room(s), etc. - not worth it for me. Plus if you get there and find out it's got a problem ( or it's in the back lot of a Best Buy with a shady woman hanging around asking for more $$. )
Might try a uhaul, as to why, I am retiring soon and slowly moving my stuff out there. BTW it is a commercial V plow. I have some contractors scheduled to do some work and have to clear a path so I decided to take the plow out now rather than later

Since it's a v-plow I would definitely trailer it or put it in the bed. That's just a lot of weight and wind resistance. The rear of the truck is where weight is made to be. As we know plowing is abusive and 1500 miles is a lot to have a plow on for, you're not supposed to exceed 45mph with a plow, around town i'm not worried but long distances I would be worried. I think putting it on a trailer would be the smartest move for peace of mind. You posting here means that you are questioning it and I say go with your gut
