I have been reading about upgrading, or downgrading , to duraspark from the TFi system.
I was wondering if the 79 Pinto dizzy is the only one you can use?
Wouldn't any 2.8L duraspark dizzy work?
I have access to a 79 MustangII that supposedly has a 2.8L in it, havent gone to see it yet, but would this work?
Yes, I am sure that it would. There are two different distributors and only 1 will work. If the distributer in the Mustang only has 1 vacuum port on the vacuum advance canister it will work.
Remember, there is a wiring difference with your 85.
Thanks. I am really leaning towards the upgrade, that TFI scares me LOL
Thanks for the heads up on the wiring, hopefully not a problem I hope.... sort of do that electrical stuff for a living
Doesn't have to be from a 79 Pinto only, just needs to be a duraspark dist from a 2.8 with single vacuum advance. I think I looked up parts under a 78 Mustang II.
