MECUM Auction - next week, '66 SWB Sweetie

It is my own opinion - that this is a really nice Slick being auctioned off next week:

No, it is not a work horse, even though it has a hitch. The lack of a two-reservoir master brake cylinder doesn't give me much heartburn, because it is totally rust-free and I'm sure the brake lines are in fine shape and I probably wouldn't be towing with it anyway. If I was planning to tow with it I'd want to upgrade the to a two-reservoir unit and I would prefer a NP435 or a T18 four speed, but the 'three in the tree' is fine for just cruisin' around with a couple of lawnchairs & big cooler.....

I'll be curious as to how much they get for it....

A lot of trucks this year are going to the "Bids go On" lot. Maybe owners have high expectations. Having looked at the truck linked above in person, 21K seems high to me. Newer paint but the rubber grommet is painted over which is strange. Pretty easy to replace that part, why not do it?

Saturday will be interesting because a number of nice trucks are going up with no reserve. Wish I had the dough. My prediction is that these higher prices are going to trend downward in the next few years as the rest of us baby boomers rust away. Didn't see too many younger folks there.

I would expect a truck restored to original for that price. And the box trim on the correct sides...

What do you mean there Eric? Are you referring to the angle of the trim at the rear, by the tailgate?
