A gift from my son for Xmas. I thought it was pretty cool. One of his teachers makes all different kinds of small plaques. My son gave him a picture of a hood emblem and this is what he did. Pretty cool and thoughtful. Just thought I'd share

He is 14 now. We started "the project" on my 66 about 4 years ago. He gets hot and cold with the restoration. There are times when I feel like I could walk away and he would finish it on his own and there are other times I feel if I walked away, it would sit until it dissolved in the elements and he wouldn't even notice it. LOL. He has learned to weld and he has learned a tremendous amount about mechanics in the past 4 years. Working on the truck with him is sometimes more satisfying than working on the truck itself!
You have the right approach....Try to involve your son all the time but don't push him to much!!
Yeah, you can't make them be passionate about the same things you are, that'll backfire real quick!!! Mine seems to care more about the end result versus the journey to get there. Still awesome seeing that shine in his eyes when something gets completed.
