Is this ok??
After having it installed for over a month it wasnt sounding loud at all it sounded like a vw bug and i couldnt stand it,I took off the glasspack and just ran a pipe right out the side of the truck in front the rear right tire,Is this ok,I know i have seen about 3 f150's with this done and i was just making shure it is ok.
I was also wondering why it isnt loud at all with no muffler or glasspack on,It still sounds like i have a muffler on,There are 176,000 miles on the original Cat could they be clogged and making it sound different,Just wondering.
I dont now much about this stuff so any help would be great.

If you still have the factory cat that is probably why youre truck is quiet, Ford uses some pretty restrictive exhaust systems. If you want it to sound really good you need to go with a 3" exhaust and a Flowmaster or similar muffler. these sound real deep and powerful without being too loud. If you want to save money and dont care if it is a little loud, and are not worried about emissions then take off the cat and put youre glasspack back on. I agree with 1ton on this subject. I have a 1989 F-150 4x4 with the 302 and it has true duals with turbo mufflers. One of the turbo's finally gave out so I removed both and drove around awhile without any muffler or cats for a short time, talk about loud. WAY too loud for my tastes.
If you don't have emissions, just cut the convertor and preheater out and put in a straight pipe, you'll notice a difference right off, mileage will go up a bit and the noise will make you deaf.
