Hey guys! New guy here, had my Excursion since January.
2001 7.3 Powerstroke
Current list of mods
Riff Raff 6673 intake
Riff Raff AIH delete plug
BFG KO2 tires
6 position tune (installed previously)
To do list:
Iron cross front bumper
4 inch straight pipe
07 Harley headlights
would like to find the newer seats to install
fix the rust on the rocker panel
HPOP
find the plastic trim for the back hatch
Been wanting an Excursion since I was 19 and after 3 kids I finally got a reason to get one. Plus, with driving back and forth to the Childrens hospital every month for check ups from my 3 year old getting a heart transplant a year ago this truck is a must have!
Ive had some bad luck so far, the front end was smacked pretty hard (clean title) and it was raining when I looked at it so I missed ALOT of problems.
had to have the front suspension rebuilt (it was ready to fall apart)
Oil cooler was busted up
Radiator and water pump went out
Anyways I have already learned alot on here and hope to learn more
What size are those wheels? For some reason those tires look abnormally large for a lower lift.
I'd recommend getting some gauges or other monitoring device. In stock tune there's not much to worry about outside of the trans temp, but with a tuner you can get into hit EGGs and such real quick, so having a way to keep an eye on them would be a smart move. EGTs you can't monitor with Torque Pro or similar program as you need an independent thermocouple install, but everything else that matters is available through the OBD port.
The wheels are 16's tires are 315/75/16
Unfortunately I haven't done much off roading in it... yet.
Thank you guys. My son is doing great. He suffered a stroke when we found out he had heart condition but he is back to walking and slowly getting his talking back
ive had good luck with getting time to tinker with it so I'll post updates
Glad to have you on here. I can understand the trips to Children's, we are down there quite often (Seattle.) How old was your son when he had a stroke?
We go to St. Louis. He was 19 months when he went into full cardiac arrest due to dilated cardiomyopathy. They had to perform chest compressions for almost 30 minutes before they got him back.

What do you mean "newer seats"?
The "plastic trim for the back hatch" is still available from a stealership. Not cheap though.

So did he suffer an HIE event in addition to the stroke? My daughter suffered one, an HIE event, at birth.
he was extremely lucky and didn't, he had a little bleeding on the brain mostly from the blood thinners required for his ECMO machine but the second neurologist told us he would have very little issues (after the first one told us he probably wouldn't remember us, and would be paralyzed for life)
