My '13 6.2 is on it's third battery. Original battery started getting weak after a year and it was replaced under warranty. Year later I left the truck at the dealer to get some warranty work done and they replaced the battery again because they said it failed the test. Now this spring I had the truck in for an alignment and thought the truck cranked a little slow so they tested it and sure enough the battery failed the test.
Don't know what's going on. All batteries were Motorcraft and were current production at the time. Up until this fall the truck spent most of it's time sitting in the garage(sometimes for a full week or two) since I had a work truck to drive during the week so maybe that's what was killing the batteries.
May want to verify there is not significant draw down while sitting.

That stock bettery was great. Lasted till recently.
This battery was a sketchy start but the last few days has been good!
I wont fool sith those Optima batteries any more. I ran a couple of them in my mustangs a few years and they proved to me that they were over priced, over rated, and the warranty service stinks on them.
Unfortunately Sears no longer sells a Diehard Platinum. And if they swap out a new battery for you under warranty, that new battery doesn't have a new warranty. I found all this out the hard way when my Jeep's Diehard Platinum battery died. It had died once before when I left it out in the shop for a year or so, and it was covered under the 4-year free replacement. But then after leaving it in my boat unused for a about 18 months or so, the replacement died, and I took it back to get replaced again, but they said they would have to keep it overnight for testing before they could call it bad, trying to scare me off from using the warranty. I was pissed but told them go ahead. They called me the next day and said yes, it tested bad of course, so come on in. So I drove the 30 mile trip again (120 miles of driving to get a battery replaced) only to have them tell me they wouldn't honor the warranty on this battery that was only about 2 or 2 and a half years old, because the 4 years was up on the initial purchase, that the Platinum line isn't made anymore, and that they could only offer the prorated remainder of the warranty. So I got a Marine version instead, same group size and with the extra terminals for attaching the rings for accessories which was great. Still slightly cheaper than buying a new battery from scratch, and now I get a new warranty again, but I will never buy from Sears again. They're dying as a company anyway, and these kinds of problems are either a symptom or a cause or both. In the mean time I installed a quality on-board battery conditioner in the boat...
That said, while their batteries are hit and miss based on who manufactures a particular model for them, we do kind of luck out in that the Diehard Advanced Gold 50765 is a rebadged Deka (East Penn) 9A65 and is a great battery. If there's a Sears near you, might be worth at least considering. Unless there's a Sam's Club near you, in which case you can get the Duracell branded version for less and with a whole lot better customer service.
I'd suggest avoiding Optima in general these days. It's been years since they were the cream of the crop. They've been coasting on old reputation for a long time. Not every unit they ship is bad, but way too many these days seem to turn up dead way too early.
Take a look at the following, in this order:
Deka 9A65 (or branded as Duracell AGM65, Diehard 50765)
Duralast Platinum 65-AGM
Odyssey 65-PC1750T
Interstate MT7-65
Otherwise that Interstate version is very good but terribly expensive, same for the Odyssey. I would definitely go with the Deka or one of its rebrands, especially the Duracell from Sam's Club, or the Duralast (don't know who makes it) seems to do very well and is available at every damn AutoZone in the country. Just be careful buying exclusively on brand name, especially the big box stores, as they don't manufacture their own batteries and will mix and match. If you can find out who actually makes it, you'll be ahead of the curve.

You beat me to it, I was just about to write that there could be a parasitic draw draining the battery down when the truck isn't in use. If you have a multimeter you can check out alternator and see what it is putting to the battery when running and check the battery when the truck is off and see if there is something drawing the battery down and then eliminate the possible items that may cause a draw off the list.
Lots of YouTube video and instructions around to guide you through the process if your not familiar with it. That's where I would start and go from there
As far as Battery's go I have used the FoMoCo ones and I cant really say anything bad out of them, the one I have in my 08 is still kicking and yes that is the original motorcraft battery in it...so no complaints from me on there...other than the price when I replaced my 02 truck with a new FoMoCo battery when the original bit the dust.
Anecdotal, but I always had to disconnect the battery on my skidsteer to kerp it from draining while sitting. Dealer advised me to do that from day one (and he was right). Have had maybe three batteries in it iver five years. Replaced the alternator this summer and decided to leave the battery connected. It's stopped draining the battery. Even now in the cold it starts right up after sitting for weeks. Used to drain in just a day with the old alternator.
The ones that came from Ford in my 2011 died about a year or two ago. I guess some batteries never die!
When one of the boys got their first car ( used mind you ) about 7 months later the battery died in it. So he did some online looking and saw the battery for that Honda Civic ranged from low to high and couldnt figure out why, and I explained all the differences in quality, cold cranking amps, warranty etc etc.
Well he decided to buy a cheap one from walmart, and I said to him a battery is something you should consider spending a little more on because you want it to be reliable with a good amount of cca, well he thought this one would last a long while...well it lasted with the reliability you would get with an 8 track tape... after that he did spend more on its replacement
the wife's car we replaced the battery 4 months ago and it was good for a while but then it wasn't providing the amps even though voltage was good, took it back got another and all has been good since. W hen the store tested it the battery didnt have enough amps to do the job, they said they get some duds in every batch
For what it's worth, Deka makes all the automotive batteries for Duracell. So next time you need a battery for any vehicle, stop by Sam's Club and see if they have one of their AGM batteries in stock. It's going to be the sweet spot of the lowest price for the highest quality battery you'll find.

My dad's 2012 Freightliner truck has a battery shutoff switch inside the cab and it says to use it if the truck is going to sit for more than three days.
I have had good luck with MotorCraft batteries, most last 7-8 years or so, except in the 6.0 where its recommended to replace them approx. every 2 years,,,,hhhmmmm 2 batteries every 2 years $$$$$$$$
I really can't complain about any of the brands I have owned. The all lasted more than five years which in proportion to their price was okay by me. If I got a bad one, it was bad almost right from the get-go, but that event was a rarity.
