Need help changed all my coils and spark plugs, about three months ago and now I have a misfire on cyclinder number six, so I changed that and still lags when stepping on the gas. Does anyone have this problem because my mechanic doesn't know the problem. Help please
Maybe a plugged catalytic converter. I also had a bad issue with ethanol in the gas in my 2006 F350 5.4l. Mechanic put in some type of heavy duty ethsnol treatment, and I started using OTC ethanol treatment in subsequent fill ups; helped alot. Local gas station sells non-ethanol gas now, so I switched to that.
my 2001 was lacking power when i bought it. I ended up replacing all of the plugs and coils which helped. cleaned the mass air flow sensor, and replaced both oxygen sensors. what ended up being the ultimate problem was the fuel pressure regulator on the back of the manifold. I replaced that and it was a new truck. my spark knock under load disappeared and the truck will now keeping pulling over 3000 rpm.
