Parking meters

Well I'm looking at taking on a small project on the side for these cooler months coming up. So I figured I want to restore a old vintage parking meter.

I did some searching and the Duncan model 50 and Duncan model 60 is very plentiful resulting in price tags unrestored ranging from $50 to $70 before shipping.

With this said I did a little reading but couldn't find much information. My goal to start off with is seeking out a '50s era/production Duncan parking meter to restore. This one I think would be right at home on a full size mobile pole/base next to my '56 after finished. Thing is though I cant find any information on if the Model 50 means it was produced in the '50s sort of like how Type 56 SKS is the Chinese production SKS when they started production in 1956. Or if that is just the model number and has no bearing on production date.

So I want to ask people if anyone can shed some light on this whole Model 50 vs Model 60 time period. Like wise I am also curious on coloring, if different locations had different colors or if they were all a generic silver color.

I already know for a Model 60 restoration parts are plentiful on ebay and there are some for the Model 50 as well. The keys will be the hardest part to track down unless I have a local lock smith remove theses and I install new lock sets which you can buy on ebay for $70.
