Hitch receiver inserts?

Does the truck come with inserts to reduce the new hitch size to fit my old ball mount or do I need to order them?

Most of the trucks I have seen on the lot have them in the receiver. I would talk to your dealer. My 2015 came with one in the receiver.

The PIN reducer was in my glovebox, the hitch reducers are in my trailer hitch, both the 3 -> 2.5 and 2.5->2.

It could also be under the back seat depending on how your dealer prepped the vehicle.

Why are the holes on the reducers oval and not just round like the receiver. I bend my brand new ss 5/8 pin the first time I used the reducers to 2" .

The literature seemed to indicate the hole for the hitch pin would be 3/4". Indeed it is only 5/8". It is shaped as an oval to facilitate inserting the pin more easily but still be tight on the horizontal plane. There is a reducing sleeve in the glove compartment in case the inserted hitch has a 3/4" hole to take the slack out when using a 5/8" pin which is all the hitch itself will accommodate.

Could you post a picture of the PIN reducer?

when I got my truck it was installed in the receiver slready. I also noticed that the dealer had it installed on all the other trucks there. There was no charge for it.

I think some dealers do not install them because of how easy they would be to take.

That is probably true - One of the first things I did when I got home was to move it to the storage under the back seat so it would not disappear.
