Mysterious 1985 Bodyside Protection Molding

Wait! Us stray? Naw!?!?!?
Anyway, the upper trim does balance nicely with the wheelwell trim. Looks good.
And, btw, I did put the two versions of the 1985 brochure on my web site here: 1985 Literature - ???Gary's Garagemahal. And if you look closely, the difference on the front cover is the upper trim.

Do you have a link directly to it? Finding that by going to the FTE Facebook page can be hit or miss depending on device used, etc.

It's kinda hard to tell from the picture but that thing looks like it could be (hope it is) 4WD, I wonder how he likes those tires on it in the winter.

I too have this trim on my 85 F-350 XLT Lariat 'Camper Special'. Like Lariat 85, I was able to get all the pieces from Greens Auto, EXCEPT the door pieces. I have all original OEM trim currently not installed. I spoke with Lariat 85 before and maybe he can chime in, but I think he have both types of door trim (one with the small cut out for the swing lock mirrors, and the other with no cut outs). Life events have led me to the point I am at now and that is, we will be putting the truck up for sale, sadly. Never got the chance to get her fully restored. Have most everything to do it too including the 85-86 only tailgate with with the nice aluminum finish panel.

So, has anyone found where to get this molding now? I have a 1985 Ford F150 XLT Lariat with the 351 Windsor and it has this molding. This was my first truck and we actually stripped it down and gave it a new paint job before I started driving it. I had the upper body side molding put back on it after we painted it. This was in 2006. If I would have known when I was a freshman in High School that this would be so hard to find later down the road, I would have ordered a whole new set for spare. I had a piece fall off on the front driver side fender. I still have the piece but I want to replace it because it has a little crinkle in the chrome.

Upper body molding
I. - Front fender molding:
II. - Front fender molding with a side view of the end cap:
III. - Door molding with section cut out to allow for the lower brace on the "Swing-Lock" mirrors: (Trucks with the "Western" or "Standard" mirrors got a different molding without this cut out.)
IV. - Door molding with cut-out for the key lock:
V. - Door molding cross section:
VI. - Back of the molding showing the double stick tape:
[/This molding is what makes the early 1985 models different from all the other 1980 - 1986 trucks.]
I took mine off a couple of months ago to paint my truck and do some other work, it all all of it. If only I knew how rare it was I would’ve kept it.

I don't have anything to add to the questions, but I also have the rare molding on my '85. The plastic cover over the chrome center strip is completely destroyed (yellow/ cracked) and I am constantly trying to figure out a solution for restoration. This trim is much too valuable to simply give up.
Any ideas?
Any ideas?
I know htis is old thread, but I see several old 85+ trucks in the JY with this exact molding scheme.
