No start issue

Just before I left town for work I was charging my F100 and got it started. I left the charger on the battery while it was running for awhile and after I disconnected it and shut the truck down I found the ignition circuit was dead. Nothing in the one position and nothing to the starter. I'm out of town for awhile so can't trouble shoot until I return but am trying to brain storm what might be the issue. My first thought is the starter solenoid but I wonder if there is a fusible link or line off the ignition switch I might have fried leaving the charger on the battery while it was running. It's got a new battery, alternator and regulator.

Start with the basics, check that battery is serviceable. How old is it?

If there are no lights in the dash, no headlights, no anything, then that points to a bad connection. Even a weak battery should light up the dash.

If all your problems started after charging battery, it may be something as simple as a bad battery/ cable connection. Have battery load tested first,if it checks out. Use a continuity light on the small trigger wire going to starter solenoid. It should light when you turn key to start position. Do you have any starter function at all. Please get back with results.

OK so I got back home and after the holidays got back to working on the truck. I can report that after bypassing the factory optional wiring to the amp gauge it seem to work fine. I'll have to pull the cluster and see if there is a loose connection on the back of the gauge.
