Well i went on a hunting trip. saw nothing but hundreds flying away in expenses LOL
After blowing 2 new 265.00 tires, destroying 2 trailer rims and 1 trailer tire.
well the battery light flickers on and off a few times. once at idle and the other when driving. I checked everything i knew to check. the gauge showed charging but did go down the first time. both times I was driving in snow or rain..???? The alt looks fairly new , still has a sticker on it..
Other larger issue is a blew the radiator on the top. I guess this is my fault, I kept the truck pegged going up a long climb at 70 mph the Exhaust temps were 1200.. I never bothered to look at the water temps... lucky I was near a town. I bought some sand paper and JB plastic weld set up for about 30 min. Added more water and drove it home the last 140 miles. it is like 35 outside and i would have never thought of over heating.
other stuff my front bumper lost some bolts and came loose and the rear skid plate lost a nut and was hanging down.
we got stuck in some mud too. oh what fun... As for my battery light? any ideas? I noted a few wires with the plastic rubbed off at the Alt from a water hose. I will fix that but it did not look like they were grounding out and felt dry.
That's what I have for a radiator. My alternator was doing that and I cleaned up the plugs with that electronic cleaner and then used that dielectric grease and the problem went away, for the time being anyway.
I only see jack rabbits. Not one deer. the gave out 1000 tags for one area due to a fire taking out all the region.. there were people all over in the same area. I left due to that and the rain. turned the area into mud. I wanted to get a mountain lion but they are a night time hunt I guess. I may need to go get a night vision scope now LOL I still have a week for the deer and i have 2 cow elk tags good till Jan 15. I just don't think I can afford all the repairs and tires. every hunt I go through 300 or more in tires. I lost 3 on the trip due to rocks and bad luck.....
I installed an all-aluminum Mishimoto radiator a year or so ago. It fit just right and does a good job. It almost seems too pretty for my old OBS. That price is unbelievable.

Yeah. the price was much lower then e bay.. I found in on Amazon.. Does the rad still have the trans cooling built into it?
Shouldn't the stock radiator have a pressure relief built into the system? the plastic caps don't look like a relief cap. Has anyone put on a high temp warning device on the coolers? I was thinking of adding one. I see a buzzer kit for 25.00 but I don't know what temps it goes off on and what temps the truck should stay under...
