Motor mount location

So after months and months I finally finished my MII install and I am now at my next obstical. I am going to install a 351w but my problem is I dont know where to put the new motor mounts? any advice will be appreciated. also I will be using a borg warner T5 with the 351w so my next question is can i use the existing trans crossmember? by the way my truck is a 1965 f100 swb. hope this is enough info.

My guess is you'll need to get the motor into the position that you want it and then fab up some pedestals that reach up and connect to whatever style mount you get to bolt to the motor (there are several factory styles for the SBF depending on what model car/truck they were in). On the other hand, what brand/company did you get the MII suspension from? Check with them...they may have a setup that's already designed for their crossmember and you just need to weld it in.

I did this in my 64. I put in a hiedts mustang 2. I have a 351w and c6 from a 1978 LTD. After I had my ride hieght set I put in the engine and transmission. Basically I set them in and blocked it where I wanted it to sit. A few things to keep in mind are that it will not be centered to the firewall because our firewall s are offset so don't be alarmed by this. It will look kinda funny at first. Also you will need to switch to a rear sump oil pan. I bought one from ford racing. I set my engine low and far back in the engine bay. I used welder series mounts. They came with the rubbers too. They are a cut and fit deal, then weld in place. If you need pics or anything just ask because my front sheet metal is still off so I could get decent pics

Thanks mike53, and yes your pics would be great to see for reference..
by MC system do you mean master cylinder? if so its just one i got from amazon but its not the dual system only the single which will only support disc/drum not disc/disc, I didnt do enough research before i purchased it lol as i am a beginner at this but at this point i might just keep the rear drums since i have the new 11" discs up front and will be enough for what i will use the truck for.

Yea you need to get the engine and tranny in to fab your mounts. I have a simple and cheap design if you dont want to buy any just holler. You will probably have to fab a tranny mount. I would put it as far back as you can just give yourself some clearance from the firewall.
I put a Fatman under mine and am very happy with how mine handles. What are you doing in the rear?
I put a Toreno rear ontop of my springs and took a few leaves out. I wish l would of not been in such a hurry and did the lincoln Marc 8 IRS that seems like it would be cool.to do.
