Has anyone actually gone through the trouble and cost of installing one of these on their personal vehicle. The idea is nice, especially if I could wire it to the block heater and trickle charger, but I believe I would need more than the 15 amp at that point. Kussmaul Auto Eject - 120V, 15 Amp
Not on my personal ride but I did have a hand in installing a couple of them on Fire Dept rigs, a Suburban (LR quart panel) and a GMC Crew Cab (behind rear seat door). We had them on all of our trucks from the builders but those two smaller rigs we did ourselves. The install is easy enough with a little bit of wiring. They are pretty durable and reliable, I was with the Dept for 30 years and we were running approx 750 responses a year when I retired and I can only recall a single failure of one of the Auto Ejects, the solenoid failed so it stopped ejecting the plug. The trucks were plugged in 100% of the time when in the station, so every startup the Auto Ejects cycled, so between responding, fuel runs, training and the countless times they were pulled out onto the apron for washing or equipment checks there were a lot of cycles on those plugs.
