Drove the van again today real quick to pull my car hauler trailer back to my shop today.I noticed a few things on that 12 mile trip..Going over the highway over passes the van boosted to 12-13 lbs and egts got upwards of 1100 quick..they even looked like 1200 on the guage but by then I was at the top of the hill and coasted down and they cooled off quickly as they should..I noticed the noise through the dog house sounded exactly like a exhaust leak..Once I got to the shop,we removed the doghouse and inspected the motor and found no leaks.I looked around the collector,followed the up pipes,and checked the manifolds..What gives!!I'm stumped..Do you guys know of any places I could be missing?I didn't have time for the leaf blower trick..
That's what you get for living in Detroit, just kidding. I'm from Detroit and left there a long time ago except for visits. If you didn't see any soot around all that you mentioned then I don't know.
That's a great idea and I forgot to check that stupid line..While driving it made that exact sound of a pulsing exhaust leak during acceleration(almost like a blown header gasket on a gas engine truck)..I will check it as soon as I bring it home from the shop..Everywhere else looked ok besides that its so rusted and old it looks peramently sealed forever..I'm going to have a hell of a time doing new up pipes..I should just start over and run all new pipes and a 366 turbo when im ready to go..Does anyone make a kit to except a 366 turbo or do I have to fab one?

UPDATE..I located to the dr side manifold behind tucked next the block..The leak back there had slowly ate away at the manifold and it was cracked..New one from FMC was 200.00 and it fixed the problem of the leak..Boost comes up high to around 15lbs..Pretty good for stock 395,000 turbo!!!
I think now I'm going to get a injector set and see if that helps bring the power back up..Thanks guys for all your help..
