Yea the upper, I think my M9 will fit, not sure about my 1911? But nothing with a a cyl is gonna fit...
My M9 *is* my truck gun. I have not tried it, but highly doubt its going to fit. I use the compartment for a 2x D-Cell LED Maglight, which fits very well, but nearly fills the compartment.

I will try it maybe today to see if it fits, but waiting on my dealer to call and let me know if they got my Ranch Hand grill painted Caribou and get it mounted. Could say they were jerking me around, but they ordered it and its sitting in the shop for almost 2 weeks, but I have paid for it!!!!
Don't like to leave my M9 in the truck when its at the dealer, to tempting...

I'll try mine later. Please post pics of the Ranch Hand grille guard when you get it all back.
I had an old 49 Chevy with the small 6 cyl. and it had the rod slap too. Mine had three on the tree until I bought a 52 GMC with the big 6 and a four speed to put in it. It didn't have the 5 window cab. We think push button start is new, but that old 49 Chevy had it. The key switch would turn from off to on, then you pushed the start button, which was a big steel pedal on the floor next to the gas pedal. It took some getting used to, to be able to push the start button and pump the gas pedal at the same time. I think you understand what I'm talking about.
I really liked the air scoop that popped up in front of the windshield an dumped outside air onto your feet. That was Air Conditioning back in the day. I remember catching my brother popping caps with a ball peen hammer on my front fender. I kicked him in the azz for doing it then checked the fender. No damage as the metal was too thick. Just wiped the carbon away and it looked good. A Walmart shopping cart would get damaged from hitting one of those trucks.
Thanks for the memories.

Fond memories indeed. The push button was actually a direct link to the starter solenoid. A manual, or actually pedal, actuated solenoid. But you didn't need the key to operated it. Just put in first and press the starter and you had an electric car/truck. Range was kind of short though. Especially if the old man caught you!!
