HPOP-High Pressure Oil Pump. Like Byron said above. You should real a lot and get a better idea of what you want, and how you're going to go about doing it. If you have leaky up pipes, that needs to be fixed.
well see thats the problem, i do not know how much power i need. i pull a fifth wheel from time to time. otherwise the truck is mainly drove without pulling. i like power that is available when i need it. right now the truck is gutless. going from a stop to 55mph...well i have to leave my self plenty of room which in mid day is hard to do with traffic. i want to be able to get up and go. right now my 5speed c7ompact 1.8L 4cycl chevy aveo would stomp this truck without even taking it past 4k red line is 6k.
thats pretty pittiful. im not looking win any races but still...it should not feel like im driving a tank. especially when i see young punks around in cummins racing other cars (i dont partake in childish games like those) and pull on them like they are standibg still. as i said, im NOT wanting to race or win any races. but if i want to put it down...then it should move. at least that would make sense to me.
to the person commenting about me being all over the place: that is how my brain works and hiw i come across. but once i actually get around to doing more to it. it will be organized. ive got a note pad with numbered steps on what i will be doing with my truck. im putting links to parts in it too. i save, i spend, i install then i repeat until the list is done. its how i prefer to do things. but i also do not like to work on something twice because i am unsatisfied. so i want to do it right the first time.
thanks again for answering my questions and helping me out.
One other thing. when i swap out the pedestal do i have to remove the ebpv in the exaust? is it as easy as pulling the old pedestal out and putting the new one in? thanks!
you have to remove the turbo, replace all orings and then you can decide on removing the valve, either cut the rivets or the whole shaft and put in a freeze plug.
The rod has a steady flow of oil leaking out so I decided to do the delete and never have to worry about it again. Its been a bit of a project to tear apart tho!
A stock turbo can handle 30 psi reliably, as Glenn mentioned look at peoples SIG's lots of good info there. What ever you do get custom tunes canned tunes suck. My set up worked great, (I'm the type of person that likes putting his foot thru the floor and into the asphalt) because of my stupidity I damaged my engine if not I still would of had a somewhat good engine (high miles on mine, really high) its nocking but still kicking around. My mods have worked great even with the stock turbo and billet wheel egts were never a problem, with canned tunes you might have a problem. Good luck and read, read , read.
