Hey Jacob, here's an update on Pepe that I have been working on with a friend since Thanksgiving. I have gone to advance auto a lot. I should buy some stock from them. Right now between moving, house Reno, and finding time between both schedules it's getting there. The little stuff is killing me But!!! My full length head will fit with no problem. So there's a win. With the engine out I have been up Ronny elbows in purple power and brake parts cleaner cleaning grease and grime in the engine bay.

Between work and rainy cold weekends I have not done a thing. I am not very motivated during the winter time. I wish I had a garage but that probibly would not change much with the cold. Alex and Hugh are both moving right along.

With it cold and a chance of rain I just check the weather in Florida. Today's low in Key West was 77 and a high of 83. Orlando is not too bad either with a low of 65 and a high of 85.

Yesterday did not go as well as I expected. Took the truck out, was going to take the trash to the transfer station when the engine back fired through the carb. Apparently there was enough oil under the oil bath filter that it caught fire, and stalled out. With the quick help of a truck driver going by, got it out with his extinguisher. Took a while, but got it restarted, and drove back to the shop.

Spent the day cleaning the filter cannister, checking compression, vacuum, reset points, and timing. May have found the issue, cross spark between the plug wires. Tomorrow, new plugs, and wires and test it again.

Sorry to hear it did not go so good Bob but at least you found the issue.

I was pretty lazy yesterday. I browsed around looking for a hotel room for our beach trip in the spring. I tried to surprise the wife and book a room at the hotel we went to on our honeymoon. With spring break and bike week around the time frame we are planning on going I had no luck.

It looks like I won't do much today since the rain is coming. I will take the morning shift when little man wakes up and let the wife sleep in.

If you have a bore scope you may want to pull the plugs and look for the dry chemical inside. That stuff 7s corrosive. You had an intake valve open

It looks like the snow band is filling in pretty good behind this cold front. It's dropped about 12 degrees since I have been up.

Just when you wouldn't think things could get worse. After the fire on Friday, made some changes, and it drives better. I get the call no husband likes to get. Gail, and Helen are ok, but they were in an accident. Her Lincoln may be totaled but will wait to see. An 88 year old lady pulled out in front of Gail, and from the look of things Gail turn to the right. If she hadn't, she would have hit the car square on the drivers door. Luckily no one was seriously hurt, and now we will deal with their insurance company.
