I've been looking for an old dealer engraved bumper for quite awhile but they seem to be really difficult to find. Is there a source to be found that has any? I've debated seeing the cost to have an old blank one engraved, but don't even know the old fonts they used or where to get it done. Not to mention what the cost might be...
A step bumper with a dealers name stamped on it would be aftermarket, not genuine Ford.
There were dozens of different makers of aftermarket step bumpers. Here in SoCal, the largest supplier was the Fey Bumper Co.
2X. Here in Arizona also. Looks like now they are the Westin Fey bumper company. OP, You might reach out to them and see if they still have the tooling to do it.
Thanks, I will do that. I know they were a dealer option as Ford didn't provide a good bumper solution for many years. I've just always liked them and would like to find one from my hometown. I think most have been scrapped years ago. I'll check out Westin Fey and see if I can make some headway there.

It's not so much Ford's production, but rather back in those days the rear bumper on a pickup was not standard equipment. They were optional. They weren't government mandated yet.

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on who to make one of these from a plain steel bumper? I want to replicate the name of the Ford dealership (Harden Ford, Windsor NC) that my father's cousin owned.
Dealership is sadly long closed.
I have mostly seen them engraved, although I also recall seeing ones made with raised letters that appeared to be weld beed. I think I could potentially pull that off, but I don't think the welded ones look nearly as clean.
For the engraving, I think a grinding wheel and carbide burr could get you there if you had the time and skill -- but I've got neither.
