Just bought an 88 Bronco II, 4X4, auto, 2.9....It starts and runs fine. If you put it in overdrive it will not move. You have to put it back in park and then got to drive before it moves. After you get going down the road you can shift it into overdrive and it does fine. If you stop with it in overdrive, it will not take off again. You have to put it in park and start all over. If you stop with it in drive, it takes off just fine. Sometimes also when you stop for a light or something it goes dead. It cranks back up and runs fine. Any ideas from anyone????Thanks
The transmission fluid if anything may be a little high. It doesn't appear to be dark. I read something about removing the pan and cleaning and checking a solenoid valve and replacing the filter. You think that might help?
Glad to hear the IAC cleaning help with the stalling. The OD is solenoid controled but auto trannies are not my thing. If you don't get more infomation here try our tranny forum. If your still stuck let me know and I will try to contact someone from a long time ago if his email is still the same.
