I know this has been discussed here before, but I just can't seem to find a definitive answer.
I'm thinking about upgrading my exhaust manifolds to shorty headers. I know performance won't really be much of a difference (maybe a smidgen), but the exhaust manifolds are god awful ugly.
I really don't want to have to modify my existing exhaust as it is true dual exhaust, but was wanting to know for sure... Will certain shorty headers work as a direct replacement without modifying the exhaust?
They are supposed to fit the y-pipe just like the manifolds. So theoretically they should fit. They are usually made for a later model truck, so you might have to plug a oxygen sensor hole somewhere in the headers.

You are the man Dave! Thank you so much! It's been eating at me for a while and I've held off biting the bullet.. I actually don't mind having an O2 sensor port on each as I have a friend that has a O2 sensor unit I can borrow to test with, so don't mind plugging them.
